Operative - Mumbai, India

General Description

The Operative carries out undercover operations and gathers information about commercial sexual exploitation victims. The job requires travel outside Mumbai on a periodic basis. This position is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra and reports to the Investigator.

Responsibilities

• Fully understand the modus operandi of pimps/traffickers who participate in commercial sexual exploitation crimes.
• Gather and document intelligence on participants and networks of commercial sexual exploitation crimes.
• Participate in rescue operations of commercial sexual exploitation victims and give law enforcement truthful statements about such operations.
• Participate in prosecutions and serve as a witness when needed.
• Assist in post raid investigations, such as assisting in home inquiries, verifying evidence documents.
• Provide timely, concise and thorough written reports of all activities.
• Manage time and resources effectively.
• Participate in weekly meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
• Carry out additional assignments as required by the Investigators.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant work experience preferred.
• Street smart and ability to draw information from pimps and traffickers regarding minor girls and majors forced in commercial sexual exploitation.
• Comfortable working in dangerous environments and with criminal elements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Innovative, flexible and mature in ways to interact with pimps and traffickers.
• Excellent knowledge of spoken Hindi. Ability to speak in Marathi preferred.
