Jeffrey Blom serves International Justice Mission as the Vice President of Investigations. IJM is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.

Mr. Blom holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Park University. He began his law enforcement career working for a large department and quickly moved from patrol into a number of specialized assignments, including the Tactical Response Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and the Property Crimes Unit. As a Chief of Police, he implemented successful crime reduction strategies and significantly improved police/community relations. He has earned numerous awards and commendations throughout his career, including recognition from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a Medal of Valor and Distinguished Service Medal.

In 2006, Mr. Blom joined the human rights organization International Justice Mission as an Investigative Specialist specializing in forced labor and human trafficking casework. In this position, he traveled extensively in Asia, where he conducted and led numerous undercover investigations to expose trafficking and exploitation of children. Mr. Blom’s investigative work directly resulted in many victim rescues, and the arrest and convictions of perpetrators. His duties also included developing and implementing training programs for field investigative staff in undercover and surveillance techniques, intelligence gathering, operative and informant development and the use of investigative technology.

As Vice President of Investigations, Mr. Blom oversees IJM investigative staff, performs operational field work, coordinates training initiatives, and determines investigative policies and best practices for IJM’s investigative staff worldwide.
