Table Host Highlight

Ken and Helen Martin of St. Paul, Minnesota are the parents of five young children. Touched by the plight of trafficking victims, they determined to host a table to educate their friends and help IJM raise funds. They started about a month before the benefit. After sending a group e-mail about the event and the work of IJM, they personally invited each potential guest. They followed up with RSVP reminders, attire information, driving directions, and a last-minute reminder on the day of the benefit. That evening, they gave each of their guests an IJM resource, providing a tangible reminder of what they'd seen and heard. Now, some of their guests have become hosts themselves.

"I didn’t want to just sit on the sidelines. I wanted to help. I bought a table and went to a benefit dinner where I listened to the testimony of a girl who had been held in bondage and was freed from it and restored through IJM. To see the work of IJM firsthand turned my heart toward the ministry even more."
