Host A TableEngage your family, church, friends, or company with the work of justice and enable them to bear witness to firsthand accounts of justice sought and achieved for the victims of violent forces of injustice. IJM invites you to be a Table Host at an IJM benefit dinner in your area. Table Hosts commit to filling a 10-person table by inviting paying guests or underwriting the cost of the table. IJM works with Table Hosts to build their guest list, spread the word about the event, and ensure a successful fundraiser. IJM will coordinate all logistics of the event, including printing invitations, programs and all related visuals, and provide a compelling, engaging evening for your guests. We also plan to do everything we can to support you in filling your table. Frequently Asked QuestionsIs it my responsibility to collect the ticket money from my guests? No. If your guests are purchasing their own tickets, they must send in an RSVP card along with their payment and mailing address to IJM, and they should be sure to list you as their Table Host. Can I purchase a whole table for my guests and myself?Yes. When you send in your RSVP card to IJM, include a payment for your full table and list the names and addresses of each of your guests on the back of the card. Do I need to arrive early at the benefit dinner?Yes, plan to arrive 20 minutes before the start of the event to be able to greet your guests as they arrive and to check in at the registration table with any last minute guest changes. Are children welcome?Because of the sensitive and often intense nature of the work IJM does, especially in regards to forced prostitution, we ask that children not attend the event. Is the dinner cost a tax-deductible contribution? This depends on the event model and ticket price. If the ticket price exceeds the per person cost of the dinner, the amount by which the ticket price exceeds the dinner cost is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. If the ticket price simply covers the cost of the event, the dinner is considered a “direct benefit” and the ticket price is not tax-deductible. IJM and the event chairperson will work together to determine the most effective model to be used for a specific city. Will I be listed in the program? In recognition of the time and effort that Table Hosts contribute, their names are listed in the event program and on a slide as part of the audiovisual presentation. If you prefer not to be listed, IJM will gladly honor your request. |
