Information SystemsInformation Systems interns participate in the full running of a global IT group supporting local staff and also all the field offices. This is a great opportunity for a Christian technology person to get exposure to a fairly advanced, very disparate, IT Operation. We are looking for people with experience in Microsoft products such as Office, XP, Vista and ideally SharePoint 2007 and SQL Server 2005. College students, recent graduates, and graduate students with some classes in Information Technology or software development are preferred. Determination of Department AssignmentPrior to accepting an IJM internship, candidates have the opportunity to speak with a member of their assigned department and ask in-depth questions about their role. With the exception of graduate students who have already committed to a specific field of study, IJM strongly encourages applicants to remain flexible regarding their department assignment. The DC intern program is structured to offer a beneficial experience, regardless of an intern's department assignment. Although an applicant’s interest in a specific position will be taken into account, IJM generally ranks the top candidates, and then determines the most appropriate department position based on IJM’s needs and the candidates general strengths and interests. IJM intern alumni consistently report that the greatest benefits of an IJM internship experience derive from participating in joint seminars and activities, serving in the common cause of helping liberate the oppressed, and generally working and learning in a Christ-focused, business professional environment with IJM staff and fellow interns. |
