On Thursday, September 27, the new musical “Magdalene” premiered at Three Trees Theatre in Costa Mesa, CA, as part of a five-week run. Written by Broadway actress and playwright Allison Metcalf Allen, “Magdalene” gives a fictionalized account of the biblical figure Mary Magdalene as a victim of sexual violence. A portion of ticket proceeds will go toward IJM’s anti-trafficking work. “Magdalene” will be playing through October 27; tickets are available through the Three Trees Theatre Web site.
