Justice Campaigns About
Justice Campaigns mobilizes people around the country in support of U.S. policies that will lead to the abolition of sex trafficking and modern-day slavery and to the development of public justice systems abroad that protect the poor.
Working with individuals, students and churches, we encourage policy-makers in Washington to use their influence to champion the rights of the poor and vulnerable.
Together, we'll ask Congress and the Obama Administration to support:
- A robust budget for the State Department's Global Trafficking In Persons Office (G/TIP), which has provided resources for IJM field offices that investigate and provide legal assistance to victims of trafficking and slavery;
- U.S. foreign assistance to build capacity in poor countries so that violent crimes against widows, orphans and other vulnerable people are investigated professionally, and perpetrators are brought to justice in accordance with local law;
- Trade policy that denies access to American markets for items produced by child or slave labor, and provides incentives for slavery-free production of agricultural exports, textiles and other manufactured goods.
