Why Your Voice Matters
Washington needs to hear the voices of Americans who care about securing protection from violent oppression for the global poor. IJM works in twelve countries to investigate and prosecute exploitation of poor and vulnerable children, women and men, but we alone cannot provide relief for all the victims who desperately need it. All Members of Congress and President Obama must be involved. You don’t need to be an expert! The simple act of informing your elected representatives in Washington that you live in their state or congressional district and care about violent injustice against vulnerable people in the world’s poorest countries is the first step to begin a meaningful and productive relationship with legislators and their staff. IJM can help arrange meetings for individuals, students and church groups to meet personally with legislators and their staff, either in your state or in Washington, D.C. Voices Who Made A Difference
