What is a Justice Church?Justice Churches are financially committed to the work of justice, enabling IJM to stand up, speak up, and show up for the oppressed. Strategic InvestmentAs a Justice Church, you select where to invest your gift. You can invest in an issue that is important to your congregation or in an area of the world that is aligned with your mission emphasis. IJM will provide personal updates on the impact of your gift based on the area that you choose to invest in. You have three choices for your financial investment: IJM will use this gift where it is most urgently needed. Support a Justice Team combating violent oppression on the frontlines. You can support the IJM team in Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Kolkata (India), Mumbai (India), Chennai (India), Bangalore (India), Rwanda, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Guatemala or Peru. Invest in a specific area of IJM casework, such as sex trafficking, slavery, sexual violence, or theft of land and property. What does Justice Cost? The work of justice comes at a cost. And the generosity of the body of Christ has allowed IJM to show up in places where there is no advocate,to stand with victims of violent abuse, to hold perpetrators accountable so that others are not abused, and to equip local authorities to protect the vulnerable. Here are a few examples of what it can cost to seek justice: $1,000 enables IJM to acquire the necessary legal documentation to assert the property rights of 5 widows and orphans in Africa. $2,500 enables IJM to conduct professional investigations in Latin America in order to help arrest 10 sexual predators who are abusing children. $9,000 covers the annual cost for a full-time national aftercare professional to ensure that children rescued from sex trafficking receive comprehensive long-term care. $18,000 covers the annual cost for a full-time national lawyer who can provide advocacy for those who have no one to stand up for their basic human rights: their right to life, liberty, dignity, and the fruits of their love and labor. $40,000 enables IJM to conduct a baseline study in a district in South Asia to determine the extent of forced labor slavery. $60,000 enables IJM to conduct 8 police training sessions in Southeast Asia to equip one hundred police officers to lead successful rescue operations. $132,000 covers the annual cost to provide aftercare to thousands of children and families rescued from forced labor slavery in South Asia.
