We did it! 72,000 Names for Freedom!
By Eileen Campbell - Fri, 04/27/2012
We are thrilled to tell you that just moments ago, the 72,000th person signed IJM's letter to President Obama, urging him to make our country a leader in the fight to end modern-day slavery. 72,000 is a big number - and it's already having a big impact.
Check out IJM Vice President of Government Relations Holly Burkhalter's video update to learn more about the exciting movement on this issue that we are witnessing in D.C.
Special thanks to the Passion Movement and the tens of thousands of students who worked tirelessly to help us surpass our original goal and reach the 72,000 mark. We'd also like to thank the many IJM Artist Partners who spread the word about this effort to their own supporters. We could not have done this without you!
We are hoping to deliver the letter in person in the next couple weeks - stay tuned! In the meantime, the letter is still open for signatures, so thanks for continuing to get the word out!
