MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On February 16, 2009, International Justice Mission staff and top officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP) signed a Memorandum of Agreement, formalizing an educational partnership that will enable both groups to better combat the trafficking and sexual abuse of women and children in the Philippines.

GUATEMALA CITY – On January 20, 2009, International Justice Mission Guatemala entered into an official partnership with Guatemala’s Public Ministry – enabling both IJM and the Public Ministry to better serve child victims of sexual violence.

CEBU, THE PHILIPPINES – IJM Cebu has been named a “2008 Citizen of the Year,” by the Cebu Sun Star, Cebu’s leading daily newspaper. The newspaper, which has conferred the honor for the past four years, honored Cebu citizens or organizations that used information and communication strategies to promote a public good, to educate communities and leaders about development issues in Cebu and to articulate the needs of specific groups and mobilize community response.
