Ted Haddock

Ted Haddock serves as the Director of Photography for International Justice Mission. IJM is an international human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression. Based on referrals of abuse received from relief and development organizations, IJM conducts professional investigations of the abuses and mobilizes intervention on behalf of the victims.

Mr. Haddock received his B.A. in Fine Arts from Furman University, continued Post-Baccalaureate study in painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art and earned his M.F.A. in photography at Indiana University where he focused on documentary work. Mr. Haddock has studied with documentary photographers Mary Ellen Mark and Constantine Manos at the Maine Photographic Workshops.

Following his university education, Mr. Haddock worked as Editorial Assistant at the renowned Magnum photo agency in New York and served as personal assistant to Magnum photographer Susan Meiselas. Mr. Haddock also served as Associate Instructor of photography at Indiana University.

Mr. Haddock’s photographic work has taken him to numerous countries in the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Mr. Haddock’s work has appeared in Forbes, Photo Metro, World Magazine, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, on "NBC Nightly News", "Dateline NBC", Fox News and in numerous other publications and exhibitions. Mr. Haddock has covered White House conferences, Congressional hearings and press conferences with President Bush, Secretary Colin Powell and various Congressional members and government officials.

Mr. Haddock joined IJM in 2001. As Director of Photography, he works as a voice for those who would otherwise go without one by telling the victims’ stories of abuse, oppression and rescue through powerful images from their daily lives.
