BANGALORE, INDIA – Four boys were rescued from slavery on a rose farm located just a few hours from the highly industrialized city of Bangalore. Two of the boys are brothers, and they had been trapped for five years. The youngest was only 9 years old.

MANILA, THE PHILIPPINES – This week, five men and women were convicted for trafficking girls and selling them for sex out of a Manila bar. It has been a multi-year battle for justice to bring the bar owner and his accomplices to justice.

CEBU, THE PHILIPPINES – Earlier this month, Cebu’s regional anti-trafficking police unit called IJM for assistance with a rescue operation at an upscale bar in the city. IJM has trained and worked with this unit since they were formed in 2009.
The perpetrator contacted the girls’ families to bribe them to drop the case. IJM helped set up hidden cameras to document the exchange, and the evidence led to his arrest.
CHIANG MAI, THAILAND – Last week, the founder and director of a children’s home in Thailand was convicted for sexually assaulting two girls under his care. The girls were 7 and 8 years old when the assaults began, and the abuse continued for more than a year.
Mary was terrified when a neighbor tried to steal her small home. “When IJM took on my case,” she says, “I felt that God had brought me a rescuer.”
