The Need
The Advocacy Coordinator position is responsible for assisting the advocacy specialist in the administration and implementation of advocacy-related activities. This position also supports the Models of Care lead in the process of relevant tools development and data management to ensure that the strategic advocacy activities that support the survivors' needs and wellbeing are data-driven and the initiatives that the team implements have positive and measurable outcomes. The Advocacy Coordinator will contribute to the overall team's objectives by providing administrative and other critical support needed to achieve its desired aftercare system reforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient administrative support.
- Support policy and advocacy initiatives and activities.
- Assist in policy and advocacy research on specific issues related to OSEC (e.g. system gaps, placement concerns, etc.);
- Draft position papers, policy and advocacy materials, both for internal and external audiences;
- Support the Models of Care lead in the process of relevant tools development and data management.
- Coordinate with and provide technical support to Aftercare Field Office teams on the stakeholders mapping for aftercare placements and service providers;
- Liaise with DSWD and other relevant partners to ensure that policy and National advocacy priorities are pursued.
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of advocacy related activities.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the National Aftercare Development Director.
Requirements
- Graduate of any Social Science course
- At least 1 year experience in conducting or assisting in the conduct of advocacy
- Knowledge and exposure to trafficking-related issues is a plus.
- Proficiency in writing position papers and event documentation
- Familiarity with DSWD and LGU systems and processes
