The Need

IJM is seeking a Lead, Grants & Projects to manage grants and grant-related project activities for IJM’s Center to End Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (Center), with the objective of exposing, neutralizing, and deterring online sexual exploitation of children globally. This role is expected to support the Center’s objectives of (1) strengthening an effective global network of accountability (law enforcement and prosecution), (2) supporting effective justice system responses from source and demand-side countries, and (3) improving detection and reporting by technology and financial sectors.

The Lead, Grants & Projects will support, collaborate and manage all grant-specific project activities in accordance with the Center’s programmatic streams of (1) Partnerships and Activation, (2) Models and Products (3) Consulting, and (4) Research. The individual will work with grant funded projects to support the Center’s team in achieving all grant related objectives in support of the larger goal of combatting OSEC, and engaging with various internal and external stakeholders relevant to achieving these objectives.

The ideal candidate is a leader who brings experience of grant management, reporting, navigating the grant application process and coordinating multi-stakeholder projects, providing exceptional organization, efficiency and clarity to coordinate grant-related projects. The individual will help the Center be efficient and aligned on key existing grants, future grant applications projects, and meet project reporting timelines and deadlines. The Grants and Projects, Lead will work directly with our Global Program Against Online Sexual Exploitation of Children grants team including internal and external IJM stakeholders across the OSEC Hub and IJM regions. This position reports primarily to the Head, Program Management, Center with a dotted line to the Head, Global Program Against Online Sexual Exploitation of Children, Asia Pacific Region, and is based in the Philippines (Manila or Cebu) with occasional domestic travel.


Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation:

  • Develop analysis, implement systems and/or processes to monitor procedures to ensure proper stewardship throughout the grant’s lifecycle from planning, implementation, assessment, evaluation to final close out.

Networking & Partnership:

  • Manage, maintain and foster relationships with the implementing project teams and finance including subgrantees in obtaining project updates related to reporting grant activities to the grantor in line with targets and implementation.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Ensure full compliance with grant obligations including reporting, budgeting, timeline and all other specified grant policies related to project objectives.
  • Document best practices on grants and program management that can be shared within IJM including policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing proposal or concept papers for potential funders.


  • Reviews and recommends options for the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, system enhancements in order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and administration and monitoring of projects for the Center team.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies on project achievements and successes, providing updates to the organization, partners, and subgrantees on program implementation; and
  • In coordination with Brand, Media and Communications, create communication materials to update partners, subgrantees and other stakeholders on the progress of the grant projects.

Research, Program Management and M&E:

  • Support timely response to grantor requests related to grant agreements, budgets, activities and spending;
  • Review, communicate and monitor compliance with grant requirements related to M&E and reporting.
  • Coordinate with the M&E to ensure data (contributing to indicators) for grantor reporting is correct and readily available.
  • Develop a grant management system/process for all Center grants to manage the specific project requests, reporting and timelines.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:

  • Coordinate the preparation of timely and quality reports on all grant-specific project activities in compliance with the grantor and IJM’s internal processes;
  • Coordinate the report writing process among the teams by receiving, consolidating and writing the report.
  • Report grant performance and accomplishments versus targets, track and monitor grant modifications and amendments;
  • Monitor and document the grantmaking workflow processes, forms, templates, reports and data to assure full compliance with internal controls and legal requirements;
  • Support the maintenance of a database for all grant documents, and monitor timely submission of periodic and final reports with the project team;
  • Develop and maintain a system for recording and tracking grant implementation, statistical information, create and distribute summaries, as required;
  • Document minutes of the meeting and make it available for reference;
  • Ensure that all grant management reports are well written and documented promptly; and
  • Monitor grant activities, milestones and assess compliance including identification and documentation of any deviations from the intended purpose of the project.

Clerical and Administration:

  • Support the project team to align work schedules, manage calendars and organize appointments related to grant specific activities.

General tasks:

  • Protect the intellectual property rights of IJM by implementing knowledge management;
  • Participate in IJM’s spiritual formation and professional development programs;
  • Provide logistical support and content for IJM visitors on an as needed basis;
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Head, Program Management with dotted line to the Head, Grants management, Global Program Against Online Sexual Exploitation of Children, Asia Pacific Region.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited university;
  • Working knowledge of industry standards in program design, planning, and management.
  • Data management experience, familiarity with data systems and business processes specifically grants related experience including writing, reporting and coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and other software)
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong knowledge of project management and process development.
  • Technical knowledge on grant management, documentation, reporting and monitoring.
  • Technical knowledge on grant related polices, guidelines and requirements of various funding agencies.
  • Ability to explain policies, rules and regulations in a clear and non-threatening manner.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and coordinate the work of teams.
