The Need

The Sr. Lead, NPD Training is responsible for delivering key program objectives in Infrastructure, Staffing, Policy, Performance, and Financial Sustainability as detailed in the Key Result Areas component of this document through (1) Training programs and (2) Capacity-building activities.

This position is physically located in Philippines National Office.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead team devotions and meetings when designated as person in charge
  • Function as acting head of the team in the absence of the Director, as designated
  • Develop the team’s sense of co-ownership and dependence on God in delivering the IJM OSEC Program impact by:
  • Regularly reiterating key operating principles in team communications and conversations
  • Regularly emphasizing that this is God’s weight, our work, done Jesus’ way.

Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation:

  • Co-develop the knowledge product roadmap for the Department in coordination with relevant National Team departments

Networking & Partnership:

  • Maintain and develop key relationships related to training and capacity building
  • Increase traction with key relationships as needed, especially when necessary to accelerate or ensure timely delivery of training and capacity building objectives.
  • Explore and develop programmatic alliances with key partners in alignment with the IJM OSEC Program and strategic direction toward the OSEC Hub.

Policies and Procedures:

  • All responsibilities that include drafting proposals, memorandums, policies, best practices, and process documents, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain and improve the Department’s business process manual.

Training and Development:

  • All responsibilities related to formal and informal internal and external planning, execution and evaluations specific to trainings.
  • Organize and execute the programmatic training and capacity building activities.
  • Maximize participation of IJM legal staff as expert consultants and faculty for training and capacity building events.

Research, Program Management and M&E:

  • Responsibilities related to Program Management, monitoring the outcomes, and conducting research on various topics which result in the successful execution of the program.
  • Participate in prosecution data analysis rhythms and contribute insight.
  • Participate in M&E rhythms and quarterly program reviews.

Casework:

  • Regular casework responsibilities including field work, aftercare, survivor meetings, debriefing etc.
  • Assist in specific operations and hearings where VIDIs and child protection measures can be strategically championed.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:

  • Responsibilities related to data gathering, data analysis, data entry, reports of all kinds, minutes of the meeting, and application of technical knowledge to achieve program goals.
  • Assist in the documentation of meetings and events when present, transmitting all documentation to the department coordinator for inclusion in the monthly report.
  • Review the monthly and quarterly report as needed.

Events and Logistics:

  • Responsibilities related to events planning, conceptualization, and logistical arrangements for execution of internal and external events.
  • Lead the planning and execution of IJM’s training and capacity building events.
  • Support IACAT capacity building and training events as needed to advance programmatic goals.

General Tasks:

  • Fill out the monthly timesheet and other internal required documentation (financial accountability forms, etc).
  • Other tasks which may be beneficial or necessary to accomplish the mission.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience with the Philippine justice system, which may include work within the agencies of the justice system or with its stakeholders.
  • Admitted to the Philippine bar.
  • 3 years of experience with the Philippine justice system, which may include work within the agencies of the justice system or with its stakeholders.
  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience in delivering trainings and speaking publicly.
  • Experience articulating gaps and necessary systemic improvements
