Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, MIAMI, FL — International Justice Mission (IJM), a leading global anti-slavery organization, is supporting the efforts of It’s a Penalty ahead of Super Bowl LIV to rally together against human trafficking.
During a half-day summit before thousands of fans pour into Florida for one of the largest sporting events of the year, key stakeholders will spotlight what can be done to spot and stop traffickers in the state including a human trafficking prevention training session with local hotel employees. The event will also include an official launch and overview of the It’s a Penalty campaign in partnership with Miami Super Bowl Host Committee.
“We are very encouraged by the significant investments of time, expertise and resources that are being utilized to educate and equip the Miami community and the larger public about human trafficking,” said Jaclynn Willert, Director, Professional Athlete Partners & Programs at IJM. “It is our hope that this collaboration extends far beyond Super Bowl weekend, and as a community, we are able to make lasting change to combat this horrific crime.”
