About Brian Cress
Brian Cress serves as IJM’s Director of Denomination and Youth Mobilization. Brian works to connect Denominations, Church Networks and Youth ministries with the goals and strategies of IJM. Brian is the author, “10 Minute Moments Seeking Justice”, the creator of IJM’s “24 Hour Justice Experience” and the youth curriculums “Questions to Live By” and “Evil and Suffering”. Brian speaks frequently at churches, denomination conferences, youth events, school assemblies, camps, and retreats throughout the United States and the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, Africa, Peru and Africa. He has also led IJM trips to India, Philippines, Cambodia, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. In addition to his leadership role with IJM, Brian also serves as a member of the National Network of Youth Ministry and its Youth Ministry Executive Council.
Brian joined IJM in 2007 as the West Coast Director of Development, and transitioned to the Director of Youth Mobilization in 2012, and became the Director of Denominations and Youth Mobilization in 2017.
Previously, Brian served on the pastoral team of Westminster Chapel in Bellevue, Washington from 1980 to 2007. After serving as Pastor of Student Ministries for 25 years, he became the Executive Pastor, leading a 35 member staff team and preaching regularly.
Brian received a B.S. in Christian Education from Biola University in Southern California. Brian and his wife Lori, who serves as an IJM volunteer, live in Bellevue, Washington, and have three grown children, Brittany, Graydon, and Marshall.
