Abraham George

Global Director of Church Partnerships

Abraham ‘Abey’ George serves as IJM’s Global Director of Church Partnerships. In this role he leads IJM’s efforts to build partnerships and collaborative initiatives across global denominations and Christian networks to draw the body of Christ into the work of seeking justice for those oppressed and abused around the world. A passionate public speaker, he travels extensively globally to speak at conferences, and convene and lead workshops and seminars on issues at the intersection of faith and justice. He is the co-author of God of Justice, and the author of several articles in Christian magazines, books, and other publications.

Abey was invited to join the IJM team in 2010 to create and lead IJM’s Church mobilization strategy throughout all its field offices. Over the next seven years, Abey and his teams in the field drew numerous churches into the work of justice, through direct interventions, advocacy, and a robust prayer movement which today draws nearly 300,000 people in prayer around the world.

Abey has several years of experience as a pastor and theology lecturer in a seminary in India. Prior to coming to IJM, he worked for a public policy think-tank in Washington DC. He holds a M.Div. from India, and a Th.M. from Trinity Theological College in Singapore, and is currently pursuing doctoral research through the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, Oxford, UK. He lives in Annapolis, Maryland with his wife, Florence, and their two children.
