Tim Gehring

Tim Gehring

Director of Global Policy and Partnerships

Tim Gehring currently serves as the Director of Global Policy and Partnerships for International Justice Mission. In this role, he directs IJM’s engagement with the U.S. Government on Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch, as well as with international organizations, corporations, and other external stakeholders, to strengthen policies and increase resources to protect the world’s most vulnerable populations from violence. He has testified before Congress at the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission. Prior to this position, he served as the principal researcher for IJM’s CEO Gary Haugen on his latest book: The Locust Effect: Why the End of Poverty Requires the End of Violence. He has been with IJM since 2011. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Tim has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics from Asbury University and a Master’s from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky. He and his wife live in Washington, D.C.
