Your Impact Around the World
When a young girl was rescued from a home where she was being sexually exploited online, she told us about 14-year-old Esme* who was exploited with her. As Esme was rescued, she cried tears of joy. She finally had a chance to find a home where she belonged. Both girls are now safe, and authorities arrested their abuser.
After two years of brutal slavery on Lake Volta in Ghana, Elinam* was rescued by IJM and authorities. When she was taken to safety, she told authorities about five more children in need of rescue. Their traffickers were arrested, and each child was provided with follow-up care to help them heal from the trauma they endured.
Kasi* was trapped in slavery for years with 41 others at a wood-cutting unit when IJM, local authorities, and a group of former bonded laborers approached him. When he realized they were there to help set him free, he pleaded for his family’s freedom. Today, everyone from the wood-cutting unit is free and on the path to restoration.
