Jim Martin
Jim Martin serves as IJM’s Vice President of Spiritual Formation. Jim works with IJM's global leaders as they strengthen IJM’s foundation of Christian spiritual formation. Jim seeks to equip IJM staff worldwide to do the work of justice joyfully and sustainably with ever-deepening dependence on God.
Prior to this position, Jim served as IJM’s Vice President of Church Mobilization, where he led a team working to move churches to a deeper level of understanding of God's passion for justice. Before joining IJM, Jim was a pastor at The River Church in San Jose, CA. Over the years, Jim has spoken at churches, mission events and pastors conferences all over the world.
He received a B.A. in Education from the University of Massachusetts. His book, The Just Church—a practical guide for churches to engage in life-giving justice ministry—was released by Tyndale in 2012. Jim and his wife, Jenna, live in the Washington, DC area with their three children.
Senior Customer Success Account Manager, Microsoft
Lori Kim
Lori is a Sr. Customer Success Account Manager at Microsoft, responsible for managing three major accounts in the Financial Services Industry. She is the architect of consumption, orchestrator, solution connector, collaborator and trusted advisor for her clients and teams. She is also actively involved in various employee groups and volunteer organizations, such as Women at Microsoft Midwest Leadership, Marketplace Ministry for Microsoft (MMFM) Events team, FSI STEM Leadership, and Parents of Highly Capable Children (POHCC).
Outside of Microsoft, she is serving as the Co-President/Program Chair at Barrington Council for the Gifted and Talented (BCGT) and Board member at Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC) to help support our highly capable children and promote the development of gifted and talented children throughout Illinois and US. She also serves as a volunteer attorney and Board member at Pro Bono Network (PBN) to “transform lives by increasing access to legal representation”. She also volunteers as a mental health ally at Korean American Wellness Association (KAWA).
She is grateful to lead the special events team in Chicago at Faith and Work Movement Global (F&WM) and Marketplace Ministry for Microsoft (MMFM) to reflect God’s love for others and create transformative experiences that provide value to all who are engaged, bring faith, be a blessing and serve God within our sphere of influence.
She holds an IL law license and a Managing Broker Real Estate license, and has a B.S. in Finance from DePaul University and a J.D. from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Lori is currently working on her first book, Breakdown to Breakthrough: The Case for NeuroHappy to Live It Fully Everyday, which is an inspirational personal story that invites people to bring their whole authentic selves, faith, practice, passion, and purpose to their own life and grow joy with hope, gratitude, and grit. In her free time, Lori enjoys reading books, taking long walks with her puppy Oreo, planning family trips, watching K-drama on Netflix, and enjoying Chicago.
Managing Partner, OnCenter
Derek Kessen
Derek Kessen is the Managing Partner of OnCenter, a strategy consultancy that helps mid-market leaders make wise decisions and lead confidently. He also serves as the Managing Partner of Heron Ventures, a global venture capital firm that invests in early stage faith-driven ventures in 16 frontier and emerging markets across Africa and Asia.
Before becoming a start-up founder, Derek spent 13 years building portfolio and balance sheet strategies for banks and credit unions at Performance Trust Capital Partners in Chicago. In total, Derek has 17 years of experience in the global capital markets, with a body of work in portfolio management, venture capital, and strategic decision-making.
Outside of work, Derek serves on the board of two faith-driven companies in East Africa that are expanding access to income-generating assets. Naivera is creating an on-ramp to home ownership in Kenya, while Pureflow finances motorcycle ownership in Uganda, reducing financial dependency for 2,000 members. Derek also actively participates in the growth of faith-driven entrepreneurial ecosystems in Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe through board, volunteer, and speaking roles with ECatalyst, World Partners, and B4T.org.
Derek studied Finance at the University of Missouri and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Litigator, ArentFox Schiff, LLP
Jasmine K. Dela Luna
Jasmine K. Dela Luna is a s a litigator with ArentFox Schiff, LLP. Jasmine deals primarily with general commercial litigation and mass torts, focusing on insurance and reinsurance litigation. Jasmine has experience conducting large-scale discovery, pinpointing answers through complex legal research, and drafting filings such as myriad motions, discovery requests, and substantive briefs. Jasmine is a staunch advocate for her clients and strives to approach every legal issue with creativity and efficiency.
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Jasmine honed her skills as an advocate during her time with the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. Her experience there then lent her the skills to help win immigration relief for her first ArentFox Schiff pro bono client. As a Chicago native, Jasmine strives to invest in her city through pro bono legal and community service. She has partnered with non-profit organizations like Traffick Free, Garden City Covenant Church, and the National Immigrant Justice Center to assist in the achievement of a more equitable and just society.
Jasmine was also a Frederick Douglass Fellow at the Human Trafficking Institute, Pro Bono Fellow at the National Immigrant Justice Center, and Child Rights Advocate at the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. Jasmine is a member if the IJM Council in Chicago.
