The IJM Australia Advancement Office was established in 2014 to fuel IJM’s global mission by mobilising Australians’ resources and influence to protect people living in poverty from violence.


The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50% and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Senior Lead, Strategic Partnerships to manage and cultivate a portfolio of mid-level donors.

This position is based in Sydney, Australia, and reports to the Director of Partnerships.


Responsibilities:

Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation

  • Develop and manage portfolio of 600+ Mid-level donors with tiered approach. Leverage relationship-based moves management strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors towards deeper financial engagement with IJM.
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence Team to effectively tier 600+ donor portfolio into A, B & C tiers based on activity and capacity.
  • Develop and execute donor engagement strategy including the following elements at the tier and donor level:
    • Donor giving history and future revenue goals.
    • Donor 1:1 donor contact plan via phone, email and mail.
    • Marketing and communications touch points.
    • Donor passions and interest identification.
    • Relationship-based moves management plan activities.
  • Develop and execute lapsed donor strategies to financially re-engage Mid-level donors.
  • Ensure increased donor retention, donor value retention, giving and movement of relationship qualified donors to Major Donor.
  • In order to grow the mid-donor portfolio actively research potential mid-level donors within the mass segment.

Networking & Partnership

  • Develop and maintain network of non-profit leadership alliances within the development space to remain current about trends and best practices.
  • Participate and complete Veritus training courses relevant to mid and major donor segment.

Communication

  • Develop and execute innovative mid-level donor communication & engagement strategies in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Division.
  • Qualify mid-level donors for movement to the Major-Donor RM’s and facilitate smooth relationship transition.
  • Work closely with mass marketing team to leverage joint communications for Mid-level audience.
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications division to ensure communications for Mid-level audience are consistent with brand guidelines.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management

  • Report activity and progress against plans to the Director of Philanthropy.
  • Responsible for data hygiene, including logging donor interactions, portfolio management, donor communications, forecasting and results analysis.
  • Report KPIs with the support of Business Intelligence around increased donor retention, donor value retention, giving and movement of relationship qualified donors to Major Donor and Planned Giving levels.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of proven experience delivering results in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Proven track record of effectiveness as influencer and collaborator on cross-functional teams.
  • A proven track record of emotionally compelling public speaking and presentation that moves people to action.
  • Experience managing, tracking and reporting on the financial efforts of a donor portfolio.
  • Extensive experience with donor cultivation, donor portfolio and moves management.
  • Salesforce Experience a plus.
